Lauren leads GMA Dove Award nominations

LAUREN DAIGLE LEADS DOVE NOMINATIONS

Recognized in Five Categories as Upcoming Single Receives Early Recognition

NASHVILLE, TN. (August 14) Centricity Music artist Lauren Daigle was honored with five Gospel Music Association Dove Award nods last week, taking the lead in artist nominations, alongside Zach Williams. Daigle is up for Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year (“Come Alive”), Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year (“Come Alive”), Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year (Behold), and Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “Hard Love,” her collaboration with NEEDTOBREATHE.

“These nominations have taken me by surprise,” Daigle said upon hearing the news. “I am humbled and honored to be considered among so many talented artists and reputable bodies of work!”

As the reigning Artist of the Year, Daigle has an impressive history with the GMA’s annual awards. These 2017 nominations are part of the now 14 she’s received in the past three years. Six of those resulted in wins for Daigle, including New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year (“How Can It Be”) in 2015 and Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year (“Trust In You”) in 2016.

“I’m grateful for another year,” Daigle added. “I look forward to a fun night as the industry bands together to celebrate! Thank you to the GMA and to everyone involved for this opportunity!”

Over 1,500 professional members of the Christian music industry determine the Dove nominees, who are then voted on by the entire GMA membership of nearly 2,500. The awards ceremony will take place in Nashville on Tuesday, October 17. Trinity Broadcasting Network will air the show the following Sunday, October 22 at 8 p.m. CT.

The Dove nominations follow much recognition for Daigle among other award ceremonies this year. In addition to her second Grammy nomination, she took home trophies for two Billboard Music Awards (Top Christian Artist, Top Christian Album) and a K-Love Fan Award (Female Artist of the Year). This has been in the midst of performances at events such as the ACM Awards, the spring Outcry tour, and the recent Hillsong conference in Australia.

Daigle is currently preparing for the summer Outcry tour, which kicks off this weekend and runs throughout August. She is about to release her next single, “O’Lord,” which has already been listed on Spotify’s Top Christian Tracks playlist and received early radio adds.

Announcing… Lauren’s First Headlining Tour

9c2d85e9-a1b9-490c-a143-06c23e1d8f0fMy oh my, how the time flies! Last year was my first time to ever step foot on a red carpet or attend an award show. The K-Love Fan Awards took me by surprise with only having released the song “How Can It Be.” Back for a second year, I cannot tell you how honored I am to be considered amongst y’all. These awards are extra special because they are purely voted on by the fans. Fans can be a very interesting word, but I like to think of it as “ministry buddies.” I sing. You share. We are all in this together and dependent on each other’s gift so that the body of Christ can be full, spreading His Kingdom to come to earth. That being said, when last Sunday rolled around, your votes stood out. I’m so grateful to have won not only the Female Artist of the Year but also the Artist of the Year award! In my excitement, I rushed to the stage and gave the acceptance speech of a lifetime… For the wrong award! Laughter filled my bones as I gave everyone permission to indulge at my expense. It was one of the most humorous moments I’ve had on stage thus far. I wouldn’t trade it for a better speech either! I got a good laugh out of it! Moving along, I just truly am so touched by your support in this season of my life. Thank you dearly!

I have some other fun news to share with you!

The secret is out: I will be headlining my very first tour in the fall! I’m partnering with CURE International because of my love for the medical field and missions. I wanted to be a missionary doctor when I was in middle school. Although my path took another turn, the passion still burns to see impoverished people given a sense of freedom through transformational surgeries!

My deepest desire for these nights is that God would shake the foundation of what we know of Him and expand our revelation of who He is. I want people to feel free to “let their hair down” and come as they are. I want people to feel like they can drink from the water of Life, rest in His presence, and leave refueled and empowered to fulfill all that He has in store. I am so thrilled to see how He moves in all of our lives. I look forward to His healing hand touching us all. COME EXPECTANT! COME HUNGRY! COME DESPERATE! COME AS YOU ARE! I hear Him saying “Draw near to Me, and I’ll draw near to you.” I am so ready! I am also excited to announce that Chris McClarney will be joining me for the evening. There will be lots in store! You can check out the tour dates below for more info! I look forward to seeing your smiling faces out on the road! But until then, God bless each of you, and thanks again for all of your love!
